Speed Dating Tips
Remember everybody is
in the same boat. It's natural to feel
nervous but, as the evening goes on, you'll
relax into it more and more and your true
colours will shine! Once the evening gets
underway, you will relax into the atmosphere
and find yourself wishing there was more
time.
These are some tips to
help you to feel confident.
Dress to impress!
We're not talking
power suits, but an outfit that fits you
properly and in which you feel comfortable.
There are no rules, but dressing in scruffy
jeans and a crumpled T-shirt is not going to
make a great impression!
What to say
Seven minutes goes
very quickly, if you are not careful you
could end up just talking about yourself and
not finding anything out about your date! On
the other hand be careful not to interrogate
someone! You may find out lots about them,
but, at worst, you can frighten them to
death and, at best, they will not feel
comfortable with you!
We recommend that you
have a few questions in your pocket in case
you get stuck at any point. Try and keep a
balance between finding out about your date
and giving them some idea of what you are
like.
Some examples of
popular questions are:-
-
What made you try
speed dating?
-
What do you have
in your car stereo?
-
What is your
favourite restaurant?
-
What do you do for
work at the moment?
-
Which countries
have you visited - or would you like to
visit?
-
What kind of music
do you like?
-
What is your
favourite film?
-
Where would you
live if you could live anywhere in the
world?
-
What would you do
if you could do anything, anywhere for 2
weeks?
-
What would be your
perfect date?
After you've made your
match
We take your security
seriously and do not give away any of your
personal contact details to anyone you match
with from one of our events. You choose how
much information you provide to potential
matches.
We always suggest that
for a first date you arrange to meet in a
public place such as a bar or restaurant.
Do not give personal
details, such as your address, until you are
certain that you know and trust the person
you have met.
